Prenatal & Postpartum YogaPrenatal Yoga in the 2nd Trimester: A Progressive 6-Session Program
The 2nd trimester generally runs from week 14 to week 27 of pregnancy. For some, early nausea fades and energy gradually returns. The belly starts to round out without yet limiting every movement.
This program brings together six prenatal yoga sessions, filmed over the course of the 2nd trimester. They follow here in the order they were filmed, a progression designed to accompany the body as it changes rather than a simple grouping by theme or posture.
I. The 2nd trimester, a time to lay the groundwork
This stage of pregnancy can be a chance to explore breath, hip mobility, and the different points of contact through the pelvis, always according to how you feel. The body keeps changing quickly though, and balance, stability, or range of motion may shift gradually from week to week.
Every pregnancy is different. This program doesn't replace the advice of a healthcare professional and doesn't claim to suit every pregnant woman in the same way.
II. How to use this program
The idea is to follow the six sessions in the suggested order, at your own pace, leaving several days between each one if needed. Some videos call for more mobility, others focus on balance or breath: nothing requires stringing them all together in the same week.
You can also come back to a session more than once before moving on to the next, especially if a posture still needs some getting used to.
III. The progression, session by session
1. The Breathing Tree
This first session mobilizes the back and shoulders on all fours, in Cat-Cow and Balancing Table Pose, before moving into a standing one-leg balance in Tree Pose (Vrikshasana), with a psoas opener and knee circles on each side. The flow alternates low lunges, single-leg squats, and Garland Pose (Malasana), before finishing lying down with leg stretches.

2. Crow: Between Grounding and Flight
This session returns three times to Crow Pose (Kakasana), each time offering a choice between a plank rock, a single foot lift, or the full posture, so everyone can progress at their own pace. Between these balance moments, the flow moves through lunges leading into Sleeping Pigeon Pose (Kapotasana II) and seated twists to mobilize the hips.
3. The Mobile Hips Cactus Flow

Crow: Between Grounding and Flight 🐦⬛
This session draws on animal-inspired movements to keep releasing tension in the hips, with cactus-arm side lunges that recur throughout the flow. The middle of the session opens into a standing sequence between Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I), Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II), and Triangle Pose (Trikonasana), before returning to hip circles and weight shifts that invite a more intuitive way of moving.
4. From Lizard to Pigeon
This session warms up the hips first in Butterfly Pose and Frog Pose, before ten dynamic lunges on each side lead into Lizard Pose (Utthan Pristhasana) and Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana), connected by repeated passes through Downward Dog. The session closes with hip stretches lying on the side.
5. Goddess Flow in Motion

The Mobile Hips Cactus Flow 🌵
This short session first warms up the neck, shoulders, and hips before flowing twice through the same standing sequence: Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana), Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II), and lunges, with no extended pause. Between the two passes through the flow, Garland Pose (Malasana) and hip circles offer a moment to catch your breath.
6. Leg Up Flow

From Lizard to Pigeon 🦎
This final session of the program works on balance through variations where one leg regularly leaves the ground: Balancing Table Pose (Dandayamana Bharmanasana) on all fours comes back several times, alternating with standing one-leg balances and passes through Garland Pose (Malasana). A continuous breath accompanies each shift in balance, all the way to the end of the 2nd trimester.
IV. Precautions and listening to your body
The 2nd trimester remains a time when the body keeps moving and adapting from one week to the next. What feels comfortable one day may call for more care the following week, and the other way around.

If a posture causes discomfort, pain, or an unusual sensation, it's always possible to stop, go back to a simpler variation, or skip that part of the session. When in doubt, a healthcare professional's advice remains the most reliable guide, especially if the pregnancy has particular considerations.
V. Conclusion
Six sessions, one breath running through them all. This program isn't trying to prepare a specific body for a specific event: it simply offers a path, built in the order it took shape, to accompany the 2nd trimester at your own pace.
