A seated hip opener where both shins are stacked parallel, one atop the other, creating an intense stretch in the outer hips and glutes.

Instructions
- 1Sit on the floor with your legs extended, then bend your right knee and stack it directly over your left ankle.
- 2Bend your left knee and slide the left shin under the right, aligning the left ankle beneath the right knee.
- 3Flex both feet firmly to protect the knee joints.
- 4Sit tall through the spine, rooting both sitting bones evenly into the floor.
- 5Rest your hands on your shins or knees and breathe deeply into the outer hips for 5–10 breaths.
- 6Release slowly and repeat on the other side.
Contraindications & precautions
- ⚠Knee injury or pain — avoid stacking the shins and practice a simple cross-legged position instead.
- ⚠Acute hip inflammation or bursitis — do not force the external rotation; stop immediately if pain arises.
- ⚠Sciatica — sit on a folded blanket to tilt the pelvis forward and reduce nerve compression.
